Yes! Tell me more!
This is a fun, read-out-loud story about two little screech owls. Mr.Gray and Mrs. Mary live in a nest behind the big house. Mrs. Mary has invited guests to dinner and needs Mr. Gray’s help to get ready. Mr. Gray tries his hardest – he really does!
This is a sweet tale with many rhymes and plays on words. These little owls and their friends are in for a surprise by the end.
I really hope you enjoy it!
I’d love to get your feedback! Feedback is welcomed through Facebook!
Where did the story come from???
I wrote the original after my Uncle Gray and Aunt Mary told me about a family of owls living in their back yard. The final illustrations came much later. I hope you enjoyed the story and the pictures.
I enjoyed it! How can I help?!

EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS! 🙂
Why does Whose Hoo need help???
You would not believe how much work it take to get books together. I would like to write more and your help in reaching other readers helps me to that goal.
One of my original inspirations for this project was working with Rotary’s Literacy Initiatives and the Lawyers for Literacy Tutoring Program – and discovering in the process how expensive it is for libraries to get books. One of my goals for this – is to donate books to libraries whenever I can.
But it costs money to get them printed 🙂
Whooooo are these little creatures?
The creatures are products of my imagination 🙂
Where at all possible I tried to write and draw accurately from the animal kingdom. For example, Mr. Gray and Mr. Mary are Eastern Screech Owls. So that means that, in real life, they really are very small very cute little creatures, and they have these adorable little puff-ball owlets.
Only the cutest parts of this story are true.
What does Whose Hoo
One of my other inspirations was – non-didactic stories. Not every story needs include grammar or moral lessons. Sometimes it is perfectly okay for you to just read for fun.
Because words ARE fun. Learning IS fun. And writing IS fun.
And I that’s why I hope you enjoy reading this to your kids, students, parents, or pets.
And above all else,
Take care!
Michael
